DC Comics Announces new series SECRET SIX written by Gail Simone!

ComicsRefueled

Following her historic run on BATGIRL, writer Gail Simone is about to embark on a new series, SECRET SIX.

SecretSix_Cover1_54086fac92e7f5.31175643

So, what’s the secret? We’re not saying, but with covers and character designs by Dale Eaglesham and interior art by Ken Lashley this is going to be one incredible comic book. Full of mystery and danger, SECRET SIX features six characters who, when thrown together, hate each other and must learn to work with each other.

Who are the Secret Six? Well, for now, Simone is only sharing a couple. Making their first appearance in The New 52 are Catman and Black Alice. In her interview with LA Times Hero Complex Simone talks about the book’s style. she promises the same sort of “black humor and edginess…Rather than “brightest heroes or the darkest villains,” the book lives in the gray area between, with “private detectives, mercenaries, bounty hunters, failed heroes.” Many fans…

#31 – Marvels

Entry written by G-Funk

One of the many titles that have achieved widespread recognition due to the artwork by Alex Ross. In order to recap and celebrate the long history of Marvel superheroes we follow an everyman photographer as he witnesses events from the sidelines. He’s in the crowd when the Human Torch fought Namor, Galactus attacked the Earth, mutant appearances cause riots and the age of The Avengers. It’s a stunning volume for both long term fans and newcomers. The incredible artwork alone is worth the price.

Poe & Phillips

Poe & Phillips

~ (via Grim Reviews: )

Poe and Phillips is a recent graphic novel by Jaime Collado and Miguel Cedillo from Arcana Studios that throws Edgar Allan Poe and H.P. Lovecraft into the midst of a horror-adventure quest. Don’t expect an authentic drama with highly refined weird fiction elements. Instead, you’ll see improbable fun and heroic slayers coursing through this tale. Who cares if Poe and Lovecraft didn’t murder a thief, let alone a supernatural being? They’ve never looked tougher with heavy arms.
